Fitness professional Denise Medved created the Ageless Grace® Brain Health program—21 Simple Tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease. The movements, which are performed in a chair, focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Each of the 21 Tools focuses on different anti-aging techniques, e.g., joint mobility, spinal flexibility, right-left brain coordination, bone density, muscle mass, cognitive function, fall prevention, systemic stimulation, balance, confidence, and playfulness.
Ageless Grace® is a simple, playful exercise based on the science of neuroplasticity that uses all five areas of the brain and addresses all 21 ageing factors of the body. The 21 simple tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease that are part of the Ageless Grace® program do not require a prescription, have no adverse side effects, and can make your body and mind feel better within 10 minutes.
It is not done in a chair because it is for people who cannot stand or are feeble: it is specifically done in a chair to work the entire core of the body in a way that cannot be done standing.
Ageless Grace ® in a Nutshell
WHO: Ageless Grace ® was designed so that almost anyone of any age, ability, body type, size or with any physical challenge can participate and benefit from the simple tools for lifelong comfort and ease.
WHAT: 21 simple tools that are easy to remember and consist of organic movements that come naturally. They not only stimulate the body, but initiate a mind body link that can positively affect attitude and increase cognitive function. Choose 2-3 tools per day and practice each one moving in time to your favourite upbeat music, for as little as 10 minutes a day.
WHY: Ageless Grace ® works on all five functions of the brain as well as the 21 primary physical skills we need for ageing youthfully. It provides great MAINTENANCE for baby boomers, it’s RESTORATIVE for seniors and DEVELOPMENTAL for children.
WHERE: The program is designed to be as effective sitting in a chair, standing up, on the floor, or on a bed: whatever suits you best. Almost anyone from the very young through to ageing adults with different walking/standing assistance needs (wheelchairs, walkers, canes or have balance issues) can benefit from practicing this program for 10 minutes every day. It can be done whenever you have a chair and enough room around you to move in a full range of motion: your bedroom, your living room even outside on the deck or in the yard; anywhere you want to place a chair that is sturdy and stable and ideally has arms.
